OncoLens Virtual Tumor Board and Cancer Conference Security – Letter from CEO

August 17, 2020

Dear OncoLens Customer,

Through the COVID-19 crisis, we are honored that we are able to continue to serve you and your patients. Over the past few weeks, most of you have transitioned to utilize our Virtual Tumor Board solution. With recent concerns hitting news channels around the security of virtual screen sharing solutions, you may have questions regarding the security of our platform.

Security and HIPAA compliance is our highest priority when it comes to OncoLens. While we utilize various Zoom components to bring you virtual tumor boards, the OncoLens Software Development Team identified early on that additional security and user-friendly enhancements are necessary to provide a platform which hosts these critical discussions. The features that drive additional security include:

  • Access to your tumor board occurs only via an OncoLens login. This extra layer of user authentication ensures only valid OncoLens users access your tumor boards.
  • Strong encryption within the session audio, video and screen sharing.
  • Less vulnerability to potential hacking of tumor boards by eliminating the need to send out calendar invites via email.
  • Reduced risk of malware installations by removing the need to download and install software on your computer. Your OncoLens solution only requires a web browser, which is secure and already installed.

I hope these steps, among others, reassure you of our commitment to safety. At times, these solutions may require you to take an extra step to get into your tumor board. Our goal is to provide you with the best user experience possible without forsaking security and safety. We continue to refine our platform in partnership with you and welcome any feedback.

Thank you for all you do for the cancer community.

Regards,
Anju Mathew
CEO and Co-Founder
